3. Purpose of processing personal data and data to be stored

Each team needs to have a contact person so the tournament organiser can contact the team. The following information is stored about the contact person: name, address, email and phone number. Player information is stored for the match playing times. The following information is stored about players: name, date of birth, address, passport number (if Visa is needed to enter Finland), FIMBA license number and match events. Names of team personnel: players and coaches are stored. All people who are staying in tournament arranged accommodation their name and date of birth are stored for the hotel and rescue authorities.

4. Retention of data

Information of team contact persons are stored for 18 months after the tournament. The birth dates, addresses, passport numbers, FIMBA license numbers for all guests are removed 1 month after the tournament.

Names of the players and match records are stored for the statistics archive for an indefinite period.

5. Data sources

The team’s contact person is responsible for adding the team’s personnel: players and coaches, information to the system. The tournament organiser enters the match events associated with the players.

6. Disclosure of personal information

Information will not be disclosed to third parties, excluding the registry administrator, rescue authorities, hotel and accommodation contact persons. Match events associated with the players are visible on the public results site of the competition.

The right to rectification

You have the right to check the information in the register and request the change of false information.

The right to object

You have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal information if you feel that we have processed your personal data illegally or that we are not entitled to deal with some of your personal information.

Direct marketing ban

You have the right to deny your access to direct marketing.

The right to erasure

You can request removal of your information from our register. We handle and resolve each removal request separately. If you feel that refusal or partial execution of a removal order is in violation of your rights, you can appeal to the Data Protection Officer


The right to appeal

If you think we handle your information without permission, you can appeal to the Data Protection Officer.


8. Principles of registry protection

  • Team access to the system is limited by team code that is solely provided to team contact person
  • Organiser access is limited by user name and password
  • Access rights are limited by system so that users only see the information they need
  • The servers of the registry are in the premises of trusted service providers
  • The registry is backed up regularly
